My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything.
Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent.
Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.
Of course, nothing is ever that easy. Because Vincent is no normal human. He has a terrifying destiny, one that puts his life at risk every day. He also has enemies . . . immortal, murderous enemies who are determined to destroy him and all of his kind.
While I'm fighting to piece together the remnants of my life, can I risk putting my heart—as well as my life and my family's—in jeopardy for a chance at love?

***

If you like your paranormal romance you will love Die for Me. The setting is beautiful, the main character is likable and the boys are gorgeous.

What I liked about this book was although it is very much a boy meets girl with a paranomral twist kind of novel it has a lot about it which makes it unique in the genre and makes it a read I would definitely recommend.

Firstly the thing I loved was the setting. The whole book is set in and around central Paris. It sounds absolutely gorgeous and has made me want to go there now. I loved seeing the city through Kate's eyes.

I really liked Kate as a character. She starts the book as quite a sad little character as she has clearly been through so much what with both her parents dying suddenly and the move from America to France. What I liked about her most is seeing how this changes through the course of the book and I particularly loved her in the last few chapters (you'll know what I mean when you get there). She does at time suffer with a bit of Bellaitus when it comes to her dealings with Vincent but when the boy is as hot as Vincent she can probably be forgiven. I also loved her grandparents and the relationship she had with them.

The boys in this book, which doesn't limit itself to the lead Vincent, are gorgeous and charming. I can't wait to see more of them in future books. I love their paranormal twist (which is neither vampirey or werewolfy) and how it works (to be be fair it's probably the historian in me that loves it as they have had the opportunity to live through so much history). Vincent is one of those characters in books who is written in such a way that you will instantly fall in love with him. There are several scenes where you (and by you I am talking directly to my female audience here - boys close your ears) will have to put the book down and have a calming swoony moment to yourself (those who are interested in a heads up it is when all the swords start being flailed around)

The final 3/4 of the book is where all the action picks up. I really thought that scenes were exciting and pacey(Kate comes into her own) especially when you finally meet the bad guys of the piece.

All in all an excellent paranormal romance - I want book 2 yesterday!

Thank you Atom for the review copy
