Sisters Red - Jackson Pearce

Scarlett March lives to hunt the Fenris-- the werewolves that took her eye when she was defending her sister Rosie from a brutal attack. Armed with a razor-sharp hatchet and blood-red cloak, Scarlett is an expert at luring and slaying the wolves. She's determined to protect other young girls from a grisly death, and her raging heart will not rest until every single wolf is dead. Rosie March once felt her bond with her sister was unbreakable. Owing Scarlett her life, Rosie hunts fiercely alongside her. Now Rosie dreams of a life beyond the wolves and finds herself drawn to Silas, a young woodsman who is deadly with an ax-- but loving him means betraying her sister and has the potential to destroy all they've worked for. Twenty-five-year-old Jackson Pearce delivers a dark, taut fairy tale with heart-pounding action, fierce sisterly love, and a romance that will leave readers breathless
I bought this as I have heard a lot of things about it already from a variety of bloggers. I must admit I did feel somewhat old when I saw the author is only 25 and already in print. Not that I have any ambitions to write novels, well since the age of about 9 when I realised I couldn't write. I might turn my hand to a textbook or two once I work my way up through the exam board (for those who don't know I work in addition to the day job for one of the major exam boards GCSE marking and supervising others GCSE marking) but that's a whole different ball game.

Some awesome swaps this week

Captivate - Carrie Jones

Zara and her friends knew they hadn't solved the pixie problem for good. Far from it. The king's needs grow deeper every day he's stuck in captivity, while his control over his people gets weaker. It's made him vulnerable. And now there's a new king in town.  A turf war is imminent, since the new pixie king, Astley, is moving in quickly. Nick nearly killed him in the woods on day one, but Zara came to his rescue. Astley swears that he and Zara are destined to be together, that he's one of the good guys. Nick isn't buying it, though Zara isn't as sure -- despite herself, she wants to trust the new king. But it's a lot more than her relationship with Nick that is at stake. It's her life -- and his

Read the first book this week (along with loads others - god i love school holidays!) looking forward to seeing where it goes.

By the time you read this I'll be dead - Julie Anne Peters

Daelyn Rice is broken beyond repair, and after a string of botched suicide attempts, she's determined to get her death right. She starts visiting a website for "completers"- www.through-the-light.com.  While she's on the site, Daelyn blogs about her life, uncovering a history of bullying that goes back to kindergarten. When she's not on the Web, Daelyn's at her private school, where she's known as the freak who doesn't talk. Then, a boy named Santana begins to sit with her after school while she's waiting to for her parents to pick her up. Even though she's made it clear that she wants to be left alone, Santana won't give up. And it's too late for Daelyn to be letting people into her life. Isn't it? National Book Award finalist Julie Anne Peters shines a light on how bullying can push young people to the very edge.

Not sure what to expect from this but I have been recommended it a few times so I'll give it a go.

By The Time You Read This is a very hard book to get through, not because it is so bad, just because of the topic. But it is amazing as well. I loved it.

I've been wanting to read By the Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead. Apart from the utterly long title, it sounds so compelling, psychological and twisted. I also have some strange attraction to the cover.

Also, Sisters Red!! Haven't read it yet, but the cover is beautiful. I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to your review. Yes, new follower. :)

Good luck with Captivate. XD I just...couldn't get past the first few chapters. So I think I'll put it off until I have more patience. :P
