Goodreads Synopsis
Hauntings are our business . . .

Ghosts crowd the streets and houses of London. Anthony Lockwood, with his slightly grumpy deputy George, and his junior field operative Lucy, make up LOCKWOOD & CO, the small, shabby yet talented ghost-hunting agency.

After a series of calamitous investigations into the supernatural go awry, the team are desperate to prove themselves. Their opportunity comes in the form of a terrifying ghost, the Red Duke. But little do they know what perils lie in store for them at the haunted Bliss Hall . . .

My Thoughts
What a fun read! I loved it and can't wait for future instalments in the series.

The Screaming Staircase is set in a world where ghosts exist and cause huge problems for the population at large. The worst part however is that the only people who can sense them well enough to do something about stopping them are children and teenagers whom the adult rely upon to keep the world safe.

The story follows Lockwood and Co an independent detective agency run by teenage Anthony Lockwood and assisted by George and Lucy who go around solving ghostly problems for a paying client. I won't tell you too much about what they get up to in this book but rest assured it is a brilliant adventure. I loved getting to know the team as all of the characters have real charm and I loved their different quirks and the way they interacted with each other. The story itself was really fun as well as scary and I found that I couldn't read it fast enough.I cannot wait for further stories about Lockwood and Co.

A fantastic read I thoroughly recommend.
