Review - the Ask and the Answer - Patrick Ness

I found this book hard to get into. It is quite chilling in places especially all the things Todd does when he is following orders. I'm not sure I really understood all of it and maybe it was just me being thick or it being a bit too clever. I will certainly be interested to see where it is going in the end. next book - The hostage by Sophie Mckenzie ready for meeting her next Thursday!

waiting on wednesday - seers of light Jennifer DeLucy

waiting on wednesday hosted by breaking the spine Description from goodreads.com Lillian Hunt has never truly lived. Always sensing more to the world than is easily perceived, she fears that her instincts are stubborn flights of fancy, or worse, mental instability. But some things—disappearing strangers, tangible dreams, and visits from malevolent creatures—cannot be ignored. Before it's too late, Lillian is ripped from the only existence she’s ever known and thrust into a reality that she always suspected, but could scarcely believe. She must learn the truth about who she is, the powerful beings that wish to destroy her, and the two men who would die to protect her. Jennifer DeLucy has created a unique, enchanting tale of destiny and the ageless power of love in her debut novel, Seers of Light. DeLucy's novel charms readers with quirky characters, while sketching a haunting portrait of one woman's journey on the path of the supernaturally gifted. But be prepared. Once you...

Review - The sky is everywhere - Jandy Nelson

I loved the story It was gentle and quite slow paced but the characters were all very rich and it's not hard to fall in Love with Lennie herself and see why she does exactly what she does. I loved her Gram and her uncle and the fact that what could been seen as a disfunctional family can function perfectly well. While I usually hate poetry in a book this worked really well and added so much to the story. I would highly recommend this beautfil story to anyone as just fils you with a lovely warm glow despite being quite sad and moving in places. I am already excited for her next book.

Hosted by Kristi at www.thestorysiren.com I thought I was going to have a really quiet week this week. This all changed when I had to go to London at the end of the week. It was all very exciting and as you'll see below it has doubled my haul for the week Swapped books from www.readitswapit.cou.uk 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I have been waiting for this to arrive for ages and was actually getting quite annoyed about it and had almost written off ever seeing it but it is finally here!!!! Not heard too much about it but looking forward to reading it all the same Leviatha n by Scott Westerfeld. I absolutely loved the Uglies series - I don't really know why it has taken me this long to seek out more Scott Westerfeld. This looks like it will be eaxctly my sort of thing with the History twist and nothing like uglies at all. Very excited about this one Bitten by Kelley Armstrong - I have never read any Kelley Armstrong - This is probably an oversight on my part. I saw this come up on...

Review - a gathering light, Jennifer Donnelly

Although I didn't love this book it did have its merits. It was a gentle tale which gave nice insight into life at the turn of the last century in America. I liked the character of Mattie and thought that she was probably the best thing about the book. There were lots of twists and turns and it got quite fast paced towards the end of the book. I did buy this however thinking it would be like the Lake of Dead languages which it isn't. The murder mystery which I thought was at the heart of it was just a side show and I thought there could have been an awful lot more done with it. I did find the book confusing at times when trying to work out past and present in it. Certainly worth the read if you have the time. Next book - the Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness
